He is a mechanical engineering graduate from I.I.T, Kharagpur and former Chairman and Chief Executive of Heavy Water Board, Department of Atomic Energy. He has many years of experience in R&D, engineering, project construction, commissioning and operation of heavy water plants.

He is a graduate in mechanical engineering and former Principle Project Director of Tarapur atomic Power Projects 3&4. Earlier he has worked as Chief Construction engineer of Kaiga Atomic Power Projects 1&2 and also as Head QA of Kakrapar Atomic Power Project 1&2. He has extensive experience in preparation and review of construction / QA documents for nuclear power plants. He has streamlined training & qualification processes for construction manpower at project sites, to meet Safety & QA regulatory requirements of AERB/IAEA codes & guides.

He is a mechanical engineering graduate from IIT, Delhi and holds a post graduate diploma in Management from JBIMS, Mumbai. He has an overall experience of more than 38 years covering multi disciplinary functions namely, Material Management, Financial Planning, Resource Mobilization and Corporate Communication. During his career with NPCIL, he held positions such as: General Manager (Joint Venture, Insurance and Resource Mobilization) and General Manager (Knowledge Management). .He has presented many papers in international seminars including that of World Energy Congress (WEC) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA
